Frequently asked questions
Pup Crawl Cold Weather Policy
We walk year round in Cochrane and Calgary, but safety comes first. Cold snaps are common here, so we adjust based on daily conditions.
Normal Walks
0 to minus 20C including wind chill
Most dogs do well in this range. We complete full walks, but may shorten the route for puppies, seniors, or short coated dogs. Coats and booties are recommended when needed.
Severe Cold
Minus 20 and below: Walk times may be shortened for safety or cancelled if it gets too extreme.
Payment and Credits
If a walk is shortened because of extreme cold, the visit is still charged at the regular rate. No refunds or credits are given for weather related adjustments. Unless canceled outright.
Breed and Health Notes
Some dogs can handle more, like huskies or shepherds. Others need extra care, like boxers, older dogs, or small breeds. If a dog has special needs, we may tailor the visit and update the owner.
Communication
When a cold snap hits, we send clients a quick notice so they know what to expect for the week and they may use their judgement as well. The pups safety is the priority for us.
